Veridata

How long has Veridata been in business and what is your role?
Veridata has been in business since 1996 and we still have the same team we had twelve years ago which means we've gained a lot of experience in the industry. I'm a Managing partner and I'm responsible primarily for sales and customer service but I'm also very much involved in the day to day operations too. Because of the size of the business and the fact that most of us have been here from the start means we have a very close team at Veridata. Strong relationships are very important to me both within the business and with our customers but also with our key suppliers, including Admiral Leasing.

What does Veridata do?
As a business we offer a range of mail management solutions for organisations such as MBNA Bank including returned and undelivered mail data capture and validation, direct mail response handling and mail fulfilment. We also help clients keep their mailing lists clean by capturing Ôgone a ways' and Ôno mail' requests. Electronic scanning has become a key area of the business, and we've added new electronic data storage, document management systems and bespoke scanning services with equipment funded by Admiral. It's vital that we keep pace with the latest technology to make our operations more efficient and effective, Admiral helps us to do that.

What is unique about Veridata?
Our investment in the new technologies reduce the need for paper and print which I feel, in today's environment, is extremely important and means we can help businesses to reduce their carbon footprint whilst at the same time highlighting our own social responsibility and awareness as a business. As well as our investments in the latest equipment, one of our key strengths is the

security of our premises; we are unique in the market as we have one of the most secure units. We feel this is critical as people are very aware of data security especially in light of recent events highlighted by the media. Finally, it might sound a bit arrogant, but I don't mind saying we're very good at what we do!

How do Admiral support your business?
Admiral funds all our equipment; the scanners and mail processing equipment. I know that if we ever need a new piece of equipment I can contact Admiral and it will be dealt with straight away. Our account manager is brilliant and visits us regularly, it's the personal touches we receive from Admiral that are unique and we just wouldn't get that from other companies in the industry.

How did you source Admiral in the first place?
I was introduced to Admiral Leasing approximately three years ago through equipment suppliers Sharples who supplied our very first scanner. Sharples are based locally and they already had, and continue to have, a very strong relationship with Admiral. As a key equipment provider, they introduced us to Admiral and things went from there really.

Do you work within any specific industry sectors or a certain size of business?
Our customer base is extremely varied and we work with a range of businesses of all sizes across all sectors. Due to the nature of the company and the way we work as a team we have some very longstanding, loyal customers one of which is MBNA bank. We have been supporting their direct mail campaigns for twelve years now and have developed a very strong relationship. We act as a return address for any of their returned or undelivered mail. We capture the date in their required format and then update their databases which ensures their marketing is hitting the correct targets. They appreciate our service levels and flexible way of working as we can tailor our services to match their needs. Although MBNA are obviously a big company our service levels are the same for all our clients no matter what size of business they are. We're always happy to advise our clients on the best solutions for their business and I think our smaller clients benefit from the experience we've gained from companies such as MBNA who, as leaders in direct mail, are constantly pushing back the boundaries. In order to meet their demands we're constantly looking at new and better ways of doing things which often leads to further investment in new technologies and equipment which benefits all our customers. Again, Admiral really helps us to stay ahead of the game by supporting these investments.

What would you say are the benefits of working with Admiral?
I would definitely say that their flexibility and personal approach is key. Our account manager can be here whenever we need her and it may sound trivial but whenever I call Admiral and leave a message they always respond quickly - you'd be amazed how many people don't do that these days! As a business we are flexible in our approach with our customers so we like to work with likeminded companies, hence our relationship with Admiral.

What do you expect from a leasing provider?
To me it's all about building relationships and working with likeminded people, I have never done business on price and therefore I don't expect that from my suppliers. Service levels and quality are far more important to me and as far as I'm concerned I have no reason to look at other providers whilst I have such a solid relationship with Admiral.

It certainly sounds as though you are impressed with the Admiral's service?
Absolutely, they are flexible, responsive and offer a quality service with the personal touch. I would much rather work with a company like Admiral than a faceless organisation.

It seems obvious that you will continue to work with Admiral?
We will definitely continue to work with Admiral because of the excellent service we've experienced and I'm sure our account manager knows that! We are planning to grow our business significantly in the short and medium term which will inevitably mean that a further investment in more equipment is required and we will be using Admiral to help fund this expansion.
